Chapter 507

When Brock saw that Vanessa was about to be carted off by the Martial Alliance members, he moved to block their path. He was like a lion who had woken from its slumber, his submissive attitude vanishing and replaced with an imposing demeanor. "Let go of her!" he barked.

Amaya sneered disdainfully at him, "What, are you going to get physical with us? You'd better think things through, Mr. Meyer. Once you make a move against us, your entire family will be implicated."

She patted Vanessa's face. "If you follow along obediently, I can plead your case with Mr. Tate later in order to allow your family a grace period of one year. How's that for a deal?"

Angry, Vanessa asked in a low voice, "Will you keep your word?"

"Of course!" Amary replied.

Vanessa immediately turned to look at Brock

"Please make way, Dad," she said, attempting to reason with him. "Our family can't afford the consequences of acting against Martial Alliance! After I'm gone, get Jack to contact Felix Zeller. He'll be able to save me!"

"Save you?" Amary repeated mockingly, giving Vanessa a shove. "Nobody's going to be able to save you, not even the Zeller fellow you mentioned."

In the end, the other Meyers pulled Brock aside because their family couldn't bear the consequences of acting against the Martial Alliance.

"I'll definitely save you, Nessa," Brock promised.

He knew of Felix. Considering the martial acts Felix knew, he definitely wasn't some ordinary person, However, it would be impossible for him to confront Martial Alliance by himself.

Just as everyone entered the courtyard, Felix arrived as well.

"Felix!" Vanessa cried out happily, glimpsing a ray of hope.

Her mention of his name made Amary smile faintly and said, "Hah! I thought your supposed savior-Felix or whatever-would have some sort of remarkable abilities, but he turned out to be nothing but a young man. Watch as I send him packing with words alone!" Raising a right hand and pointing at Felix, she barked, "Felix Zeller, is it? Martial Alliance is currently conducting business. And any who interfere will be punished with death, so scram!"

Felix knew that trying to exchange words with these people was futile, so he simply took

another step forward. Amary and the Alliance's members restraining Vanessa retreated to the sides. There seemed to be an invisible force pushing at them, leaving them no choice but to obey. "You-"

Amary regained her balance, an ugly expression on her face.

"So you're actually a martial arts master! No wonder this bitch treated you as a savior," she hissed. "Well, it's over for you, brat. You're dead meat for daring to act against someone from Martial Alliance!" Just as the words left her mouth, an impatient voice rang out.

"What's with all the ruckus? Hasn't the matter been settled yet?"

Amary hurriedly ran toward the person who had just entered the courtyard, a reverent expression on her face.

"Everything was supposed to be going smoothly, Mr. Tate, but then this fellow named Felix Zeller showed up all of a sudden," she explained. "His attitude was dismissive even though I evoked the name of the Martial Alliance." When the yawning youth heard the name Felix Zeller, he glanced over at Felix before quickly walking over to him. He circled around to stand in front of him, and after looking him up and down, his teeth started chattering in fear. "M-Mr. Zeller?" he asked fearfully.

Felix frowned. Who would've thought that the instigator of the situation was the young man he had beaten up at the entrance to Meadowspring's village? He immediately grabbed Xerxes by the collar of his shirt.

"How do you seem to just pop up everywhere I go? Looks like I didn't teach you a harsh enough lesson last time."

Amary and the other Martial Alliance members became extremely tense at his actions.

"Let go of Mr. Tate!".

"This guy's asking for it!"

Unexpectedly, Xerxes roared anxiously, "Shut up, all of you! Even if Mr. Zeller slapped me twice, I'd deserve it!"

What?

Everyone was rooted to the spot, stunned. They couldn't believe that someone as arrogant as Xerxes could act so deferentially toward this man.

Amary especially had her jaw hanging wide open. Xerxes was the son of the deputy leader

of Martial Alliance. Who would dare touch a single hair on his head with a status as high as that? That was what she had thought, but...

Vanessa was the only one who treated the situation as if it was perfectly normal. Brock and the rest of her family were also severely shocked.

After all, Xerxes' responsibility as the son of the deputy leader was to collect loan payments from the various families with ties to Martial Alliance. He had always acted like he was the boss of everyone. When had they ever seen him in a situation like this?
